| 5am at the empty market square |
Good morning Greece! 5am wakeup call and 5.15 breakfast to catch a 5.50 ferry to Mykonos island was cruel way to start a holiday... at first.
Walking through the flea markets of Athens at dawn when no one was around, with the Acropolis being bathed with many dawn colours was a welcome sight to jetlagged eyes!
Getting onto the ferry wasn’t totally smooth sailing with Danika franticly searching for her passport in her suitcase in the luggage carrier before we could go out to the seating levels, but soon we were assigned to the comfort of an airplane style seat. I was seated next to Brent an spent the next 5 hours uploading his photos, catching up on sleep, reading and grabbing a bite to each. As we approached the island of Mykonos, Danika and I went outside to watch the land come closer.
We finally arrived at 1pm and all jumped on a bus with another Contiki crew who we will be spending the next 3 days with. As we headed off to the resort, we got our first look at the Greek style housing with the white paint and blue shutters!

| Danika's frantic passport search |
We chucked on our bathers and headed down to the pool for a few drinks, some tanning and play volleyball in the water. Met with some of the other group and instantly got along. Had a chat to one of the girls from our group on her honeymoon and also checked out the beach across the road. Was a tad windy but who cares, I was in Greece!

Soon we headed back to our room, chucked on a bed sheet toga and headed back to the pool bar to partay! Couple of the guys jumped in the pool, followed by Danika which she would come to regret over the next few days. We danced, chatted and drank till just after midnight when the cold got to much for Danik in her wet toga and I couldn’t keep my eyes open, so we called it a night.
Goodnight Mykonos xx
